Suzhou International Youth Painting Competition

Our Twin City partners in Suzhou, China invite children and young people from Greater Victoria to enter the Suzhou International Youth Painting Competition: Gardens in Children’s Eyes.

Children and young people aged 6-14 who live in Greater Victoria are invited to submit a painted work of art of Victoria’s beautiful architecture, garden landscapes, parks or botanical gardens.

Prizes will be awarded to the best submissions and the works will be exhibited in libraries, the subway and the foreign affairs office in Suzhou. Some paintings can also be made into souvenirs for Suzhou friends around the world.

Submission requirements

  • Artwork dimensions should be 8.5″ x 11″
  • The paint can be acrylic, watercolor, oil, etc.
  • Please include a last name and mailing address on the back of the painting if you wish to be eligible to receive a prize.

Submission deadline

The deadline for submission is Monday, September 19, 2022.

Suzhou, China was adopted as a twin city by the Victoria City Council on July 17, 1980. With many gardens scattered throughout the city, Suzhou is known as the “Garden City”, nine of which have been recognized as UNESCO World Cultural Heritage. .
